Effects of Human Activities on Snowy Owls
Since snowy owls live in the tundra they have threats facing them such as temperature change. This affects both the habitat of the owls and their food sources. There aren't many humans living in the arctic so human impact is limited but there have been issues with snowy owls running into cars and utility lines severely injuring them. Multiple owls have been found with gun shot wounds. According to defenders.org snowy owls are being illegally killed for their feet and eyes (shown in Image 3) to be distributed and sold in Asian markets.
